I have found that pretty much every home now has a virtual assistant such as Amazon Alexa. Once I learned that Alexa has some awesome tabletop skills, I began researching different board games Alexa can play with me. I began finding myself asking Amazon Alexa to play board games with me when I’m either bored or have noone to play with. Many board gamers may be thinking what board games can Alex play? We have decided to put together the best Alexa board games that you can play within your home.
Amazon Alexa can play a variety of different board games. Our favorites include When in Rome, St. Noire, Ticket to Ride, Magic Door, and more. In most of the board games played with Alexa, the virtual assistant acts as the game master by keeping track of gameplay and scoring, as well as making sure all of the rules of gameplay are being followed.
Keep in mind, some of the board games Alexa plays may still require you to have the physical copy of the board game in order to play with Alexa. Amazon Alexa either acts as the opponent or the game master for your favorite board games. For example, in Ticket to Ride, you will need the physical board game. Alexa can either act as game master or opponent when playing.
In other cases, Alexa will offer full games as a “skill” that will need to be downloaded and installed. The great thing about Amazon skills is that all you need is your voice and nothing physical at all.

Ticket to Ride
Ticket to ride is one of our favorite boards games to play for game night. When I found out that I can play Ticket to Ride with Alexa, I was pumped! Alexa’s role in Ticket to Ride is to help guide the game and even fill in as an extra opponent if necessary.
The great thing about the Ticket to Ride Alexa skill is that she does a great job explaining the game to new players. As a game master, Alexa clearly states the rules and lays them out gradually, instead of all at once. As you play through the game, she will explain and moderate the game for you.

St. Noire
St. Noire is an awesome board game played with Alexa where players use the Alexa skill to interview suspects, while keeping track of their investigation using character cards and murder weapon tokens. The purpose of the game is to identify the killer. The best part is that the identity of the killer is randomized on each play-through. This makes every new game feel fresh and unpredictable.
In St. Noire, you will act as the detective as you gather clues and question suspects. Your job is to piece together the events on the night of the murder. You will work with Alexa as you explore the different locations in town to find the right murder weapon and confirm suspect’s whereabouts on the night of the murder.
