Western Legends is a fun “sandbox” game that throws you into the Western theme. This western themed board game consists of hunting down outlaws, rustling cattle, robbing banks, prospecting gold, and pretty much doing everything you would expect in a western themed game.

This board game has beautiful artwork, and the presentation of the game components really brings this highly thematic game to life. Choose your path wisely and grow your legendary status within the Wild West.

You may need to make quick decisions and change your strategy on the fly as you react to other player’s gameplay and decisions. Choose from 12 different characters with unique backgrounds for a starting point, but the game mostly consists of choosing your own path to victory.

When we think of Colt Express, we think of chaotic fun! Colt Express is a board game that simulates an old west train robbery using action programming and prediction. This game can lead to utter hilarity if you are playing with the right group!

Colt Express guarantees many laughs and looks great on the table. Great strategy, very replayable, and lots of great “fiddly bits”! The meeples even fit on the horses. This game is a must have game to add to your shelf of western themed board games.

Great Western Trail is one of our favorite western themed board games as it blends so many different mechanics that we love from our other “go to” board games. There’s tile placement, deck building, and action selection.

In the Great Western Trail, you must navigate danger as you herd your cattle to Kansas City. The more cattle you herd, the more money and victory points you earn!
This board game is a great deck building / area control that has a satisfying learning curve. You also get to make many terrible cow jokes!

Carson City is another great western themed board game that consists of buying land, building buildings and roads, protecting your income, and buying some points.

Players choose characters each round that will give them a specific advantage. After selecting your character, you can perform different actions such as building structures, claiming ground, earning money, and scoring victory points. Don’t get caught in a duel, because the last one standing claims the goods.

Tiny Epic Western is a worker placement board game mashed up with poker. You must place your workers in buildings to gather resources, and at the end of each round you partake in a few rounds of three-card poker.

In this “poker” game, each location is adjacent to two cards from a specialized deck (four suits, numbers from 1 to 5), and the winner earns extra resources. You score points by spending resources to build buildings. It’s a very cool and unique worker placement game that is tons of fun!

Players must take turns moving around the game board, carrying out different activities in the Wild West. Search for wanted outlaws, escort stagecoaches, seek out wildlife, search for gold, or gamble in the saloon.

Be careful though, any player can challenge you to a duel and rob you of all your fortune!

Dice Town is an awesome western themed board game that puts a hilarious twist on risk taking and gambling, As a player, you must decide if you take the risk, and you control which dice you try to hang on to. Knowing the rules of poker is a great plus, but after a few rounds, everyone will get the hang of it!

We enjoy this game tremendously, and it is one of the first games we introduce to our non-gamer friends all the time.
